Peninsula Pelješac, Orebić
Orebic is situated on the southwest peninsula of Peljesac beneath Mount St. Elias. It is located on the Peljesac channel opposite the town of Korcula on the island and in conection with the ferry. Although the municipality is situated on a peninsula it is almost in all the island's character. Sea and seashore fully permeate the landscape and the lives of the people of the municipality. Vegetation is very meager. Crop-livestock exploitation led to a devastation of plant cover in which others often naked, lime-stone, or a vast part of garrigu. Orebić is from Dubrovnik, 112 km away, or 1h and 15min. Area of the municipality is 113.13 km2. In fact few people live in Orebic, but a lot of them visit this small town on the peninsula in the summer.
